The Beauty of Black Bull

Black Bull Logo

Nothing shows pride of home more than clean, well-sealed concrete and aggregate driveways and pathways. Beautifully sealed, high-gloss concrete sidewalks and patios look warm and welcoming, and sealants simultaneously serve the very practical purpose of protecting your concrete work and hardscaping from loose stones, dirt and oil and reduce cracking caused by unpredictable freeze/thaw cycles and water erosion.

Concrete sealers are ideal for protecting and beautifying:

  • Porches
  • Parking Garages
  • Walkways
  • Sidewalks
  • Driveways
  • Floors
  • Exposed Aggregate
  • Patios

It’s a Win-Win Situation with Concrete and Aggregate Sealants

Not only are sealers a great way to protect your investment, but they’re oh-so-easy to apply.

Just remember these two simple rules:

  1. Keep it Clean
  2. Lay it Lean

Keep it Clean

Use a specially formulated cleaner like Black Bull Concrete Cleaner and Degreaser to ensure a clean, and primed surface. Follow package instructions, naturally, but you’ll need to scrub at tough stains with a stiff bristle broom and allow the cleaner to rest for five minutes or so. Then, use a power washer to remove all that dirt, grime and oil. Allow the surface to dry thoroughly for 24 hours.

Lay it Lean

First, calculate the square footage of your project, typically each gallon of sealer covers approximately 100-150 square feet of concrete or aggregate. Next, stir the sealer well to evenly distribute solids and tint within the can. Then, using smooth, even strokes, apply a UV Resistant High Gloss 30% Solids Concrete Sealer like Black Bull Acrylic Concrete Sealer. Dip your roller directly into the metal can with each roll, then even it out by cross rolling to eliminate application lines, smooth the sealer and ensure complete coverage.

Always apply in well-ventilated areas. Black Bull is a solvent based acrylic exposed aggregate and concrete sealer that is guaranteed to offer improved resistance to rain, sun, freezing temperatures and other pollutants that cause damage to concrete surfaces. Low VOC, super gloss and matte finish products are available in clear, brown and gray.

Why are solids so important? They leave a beautiful and durable high gloss shine that protects the surface from wear and tear and harsh elements. The solids help the sealer bond to the surface of your concrete or aggregate to prevent peeling, flaking or fading.

If you’ve following the clean and lean rules, one coat should be sufficient; however, if the surface appears hazy (likely due to trapped moisture or insufficient product application) a second coat may be required. Allow 4-24 hours before reapplying.

Show your house pride and improve your curb appeal with concrete and aggregate sealers.
